Frequently asked questions

Our team consists exclusively of certified instructors with specialist backgrounds in the military, government agencies, hunting or competitive shooting. All are assessed at least once a year and train continuously. That includes the owner.

All courses can also be held in English or French on request. Just use the contact form.

Many of our courses are classified as civilian or professional education, but not all are eligible for funding. Where general eligibility exists, it is stated, for example under §5 of the German Soldiers Benefits Act. We are happy to help you check your individual case.

At least 21 years old, a valid firearms ownership card or hunting licence, your own handgun and semi-automatic rifle, good fundamentals with handguns and long guns, an official certificate of suitability and reliability, an extended firearms-need justification (Bedürfniserweiterung) for the weapons used, and physical and mental resilience.

Depending on the course: relevant prior training (we recognise external training), a valid firearms permit and your own weapon. Rental weapons are available for a fee. Without a firearms permit you need an extended police clearance certificate no older than two weeks. Safety glasses, hearing protection and suitable equipment are always required.

The courses differ in the type of shooting. The civilian instructor course contains no defensive shooting elements and therefore requires no participation permit or exemption under §23 AWaffV; the defensive shooting instructor course requires such a permit from your competent authority. Otherwise the structure and contents are similar for both: firearms law including weapons competence, advanced first responder training, weapons technology and weapons handling.

Our instructor qualifications are officially recognised and valid throughout the scope of the German Weapons Act; they are equivalent to a weapons competence certificate. The certificate proves professional instructor certification, gives access to recognised further training and lists you in the certified instructor register.

Re-examination is possible. Depending on the subject area, you may be re-examined immediately at the discretion of the examination board, or you repeat the main course the following year.
